The Paris of the ‘Roaring Twenties’ - a bohemian hub for artists from across Europe
The exhibition Rendezvous in Paris: Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani & Co. (1900-1939), a collaboration between Louvre Abu Dhabi and Centre Pompidou, explores the impact of emigrant artists living in Paris, many of whom left their home countries and travelled to the French capital in the years after the First World War.
The book that accompanies the exhibition features more than 80 works by artists such as Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani, Kupka, Brancusi and Tamara de Lempicka to name a few, who produced some of the best-known works of the 20th century and transformed Paris into a vibrant creative community.
The book was co-published in September 2019 by Kaph books, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Centre Pompidou, and designed in three languages (French, English and Arabic).
