Intimate Garden Scene: Artistic Encounters in Beirut's Shifting Landscape
Ashkal Alwan's 9th edition of Home Works, titled "Intimate Garden Scene (in Beirut)," delves into the intersection of artists and diverse modes of artistic production that blossomed during the tumultuous 1990s. Set against the backdrop of Lebanon's ever-evolving political and cultural landscape, these artists, each following distinct yet interconnected paths, elevate personal experiences and historical narratives to an ongoing, transformative project—a collective witnessing of a time and place marked by enduring crises.
The comprehensive graphic design for the exhibition, including main visuals, posters, catalogues, exhibition cartels, and communication materials, was crafted by -scope Ateliers. The exhibition runs for 6 months at the Sursock Museum.
